When users of the Guardian website started to wonder at the way certain kinds of stories were handled in Guardian editorials the Peterloo Avatar campaign was born to try to open a dialogue with the editors.
The definitive reply from the Guardian’s editor has made it clear they don’t prioritise the issues raised about the editorial policies and the moderation of user posts in its comment areas. I think the most eloquent response to this came during an email correspondence from a Guardian CiF user called Hyperlink
I feel what you are doing is of great significance and should be supported by all those who believe in free speech

Intersting……..
which would explain why the post count is so important also for the Graun.
I know of someone who put straight on premod with no previous for suggesting people vote with their feet in response to one of their polemic contributors, I may just need to have a chat with them again to help figure this out.
Doubly interesting, given the ‘You Tell Us’ thread has been closed these last two nights (tonight at 11.35pm after QT) because there was too much to go through!
